Our client, a world class manufacturer, is currently seeking a Control Systems Engineer. As the Control Systems Engineer, you will design, develop, and validate electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic devices with the aim of optimizing engine performance and emissions.
 
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Apply your knowledge of engine systems, dynamic feedback control theory, simulation, and testing to meet customer specifications.
  • Key responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues to refine system requirements, developing and verifying control algorithms through simulation and on-engine testing, as well as comprehensively documenting and presenting results.
  • Collaborate with process partners to develop and refine engine control system requirements.
  • Utilize expertise in engines and dynamic feedback controls—including frequency and time domain design, Multi Input Multi Output systems, digital signal processing, filter design, and logical control methodologies—to design and evaluate control features.
  • Develop and maintain Matlab/Simulink and GT-Power-based Model-in-Loop (MiL) simulation framework for use in design and verification of control algorithms.
  • Analyze and present data using advanced analysis and visualization tools such as Vector CANape, Matlab, and Python.
  • Deliver timely, high-quality simulation-driven design analyses and provide clear, actionable recommendations to stakeholders.  

Required Software: Matlab/Simulink, Python
 
Required Experience:

  • 5-15 years experience embedded systems and requirements analysis
  • 5-15 years experience with product development in manufacturing, product testing, Dynamic Feedback Control Theory
  • 5-15 years experience with modeling dynamic systems through physics-based white box models, black box approaches, and system identification techniques 
  • Proficiency in classical control theory, specifically as applied to Multiple Input Multiple Output systems using both the time and frequency domain
  • Experience developing engine control systems for gas, diesel, and dual fuel engines, including after treatment solutions 

Required Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred, not required
 
Position: Direct Hire
 
Travel: 5% domestic and international required
