ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS, September 16, 2009

Ingenium Product Engineer & Intellectual Property Manager, Varad Srivastava, was one of two representatives of the United States nominated by the US Government to attend an international intellectual property training course held in Daejeon, South Korea August 24-28th. The selection was a result of participation in a specialized online training course sponsored by the US Patent Office. The IP courses were designed and hosted by the Korean Intellectual Property Office under the auspices of the Asian Pacific Economic Council and jointly co-sponsored by the Australian and US Patent Offices). At the completion of the online course, two participants from each APEC economy were chosen to attend the follow-on training in South Korea based on performance metrics. “The late August trip to South Korea was fascinating” says Varad. “I was able to learn a lot about the basics of various international intellectual property laws and processes getting the opportunity to experience the rich and unique Korean culture”.

Paul Wild, Ingenium Principal, highlighted “Since passing the patent bar in 2008, Varad has been helping our clients protect their IP domestically in a very cost effective manner. This course improves our ability to explore patents outside the US in order to further protect our client’s investments.”
